Contribuiți la feedbackI'll start with the positives. It was fairly easy to order online, the order was ready on time, and the order was correct. Generally the flavors were very good and the fries were good. BUT, the meat in the arepas was way overcooked. It truly tasted like chewing rubber, like they had reheated it multiple times. I would expect that a place like this with these kinds of prices to have very high quality and tender beef and chicken. Unfortunately, the tough meat ruined the experience, and I wouldn't go back.
We stopped in for lunch after seeing positive reviews and a great menu online. The waitress provided prompt and very friendly service. She made recommendations to our order based on the kid's portion size, which was helpful to avoid food waste. I can't speak highly enough about the food! We ordered the Arepa Pabellon, Empanada sampler, and a kid's meal (enough for 2 boys). The portion sizes were perfect and I was tempted to order another serving for dinner! You could tell ingredients were fresh. This was an amazing introduction to Venezuelan food. I can't wait to go back!
What a find! The food here is delicious!! Authentic Venezuelan food in Lewis Center...who knew?! I ordered the Patacone a sandwich that fills a dinner plate) made with slices of twice fried green plantain, stuffed with meat choice or combo of shredded beef, chicken, pulled pork) with a slice of ham, tomato, lettuce and an absolutely delicious sauce. My sig other ordered the traditional Venezuelan Arepa Pabellon, which is a baked cornmeal cake stuffed with black beans, tajadas plantain), shredded beef and a touch of cheese. It 's a combination and flavors you might associate with Mexican food, and it 's also delicious! Each of these was truly a substantial meal in itself. We also each ordered the homemade cane sugar sweetened fresh lemon drink free refills) highly recommended) which seemed to be the Venezuelan version of homemade lemonade. No pulp and a brownish color. It was the perfect accompaniment to the delicious food. Add to that very reasonable prices $42 in total for both of us for a very filling dinner) and super friendly and helpful service. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, kind, and patient and was able to explain all the menu items we were not familiar with. The Porch is located on the southbound side of Highway 23...be sure to slow down and watch closely for the little log cabin that houses this jewel of a restaurant, or you will zoom right past it! It is very casual inside. It has four or five smaller tables for those who wish to dine in. Take out is an easy option as well. Next time we are here we will definitely check out the empanadas which looked super tasty too.
We just had an amazing takeout experience. First off, any place where there is a drive through pick up makes it even better. What a fresh, delicious, and savory meal. Definitely get an order of empanadas and plantains with extra cilantro sauce, you won't regret it. My husband got the Cachapas, which was a mix of sweet and savory and very filling. We will definitely be back again!
Delicious, fresh, and authentic food! Such friendly service too!
