Contribuiți la feedbackWe just discovered two spreads that are so delicious! Eggplant spread and the Fiery Feta. What a great appetizer on a toasted pita bread coupled with a nice Greek white wine. Great way to start a meal. So many choices here to choose from but it will now be part of my entrees.Food: 5/5
Years ago, I used to enjoy dining at a little Greek restaurant in Costa Mesa. Great food and reasonable prices. Then, unfortunately, it went out of business. Since then, I 've been looking for something similar, but I 've never quite found a worthy replacement. It was either Greek-style fast food or Greek-inspired fusion restaurants. And I was really not looking for anything particularly fancy, just a good Souvlaki, Gyro, Moussaka etc. Finally, I found Ouzo and Feta in HB, and it 's really a great place for Greek food. The chicken is excellent (plump and juicy), the Gyro meat is good and not too dry, the portions are satisfying, the homemade Tsatziki tastes right etc. And the prices are reasonable. Service is reasonably fast and corteous. Oh, and the homemade Baklava also deserves to be mentioned: delicious!
From the moment we walked in we smelled a very strong bleach from the kitchen which is right behind the bar. The bar is no more than a couple of feet from the tables as this is a small place. This was about 7 pm on a Friday. No restaurant cleans on a Friday night at 7:00 PM so we didn’t know what they were doing in the kitchen with that strong bleach next to the food. The smell never went away all night. The food was lukewarm and staled, it was pre-cooked. We had ordered a few different things and they were all greasy and tasteless. I love Greek food but this was not real Greek food. I now understand why there were only three tables occupied on a Friday night. That and the bad food and the bleach. I will now go back to this place.
My recent dining experience at Ouzo Feta, a delightful Greek restaurant, left me absolutely thrilled and satisfied. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I knew I was in for something special. Ouzo Feta has mastered the art of capturing the authentic flavors of Greece. Each dish I tried was an explosion of taste and a testament to the culinary prowess of the chef. The menu is a carefully curated selection of Greek classics, showcasing the diversity and richness of the country's cuisine. The mezes (appetizers) are a must-try at Ouzo Feta. I started with their signature spanakopita, a flaky pastry filled with spinach and feta cheese. It was heavenly. The tangy and creamy feta perfectly complemented the earthy spinach, resulting in a harmonious blend of flavors. The saganaki, a fried cheese dish, was also exceptional, with its crispy exterior and gooey, melt-in-your-mouth center. For the main course, I opted for the moussaka, a classic Greek dish that is notoriously difficult to perfect. Ouzo Feta's rendition, however, was a revelation. The layers of tender eggplant, seasoned ground beef, and velvety béchamel sauce melded together flawlessly, creating a symphony of flavors that left me craving more.To accompany my meal, I indulged in a glass of Ouzo, the restaurant's namesake drink. The anise-flavored spirit was served traditionally, with a splash of water and ice. Its unique flavor profile paired exquisitely with the cuisine, providing a refreshing and authentic Greek experience. As a sweet ending to my culinary adventure, I tried the baklava. The flaky pastry, layered with honey and crushed nuts, was a delightful combination of textures and flavors. Loved this fresh dinner. 110% even late nights. Highly intelligent delivery, they put my hot meat in a separate container from my salad, simply brilliant. Salad crisp, food hot, happy customers! Keep up the great eats.
