Reef - Houston

Stopped at reef because it was close to our apartment and offers a special points in the open app. my wife and I wanted to try something new and both loved the options for apps on the menu. everything we ordered was very good too excellent. we had calamari, fried oysters and crab cakes for starters, everyone was pretty good. my only complicity was that the horn skin hid the taste of calamari a little, but otherwise it was very good. many restaurants overtaken their calamari, that was not the case here. to dinner my wife had the skallops and I had the snapper. both were excellent. our server, amy, went beyond and beyond. she was a real jewel.

We sampled a few of the fish dishes and they were all excellent. The service was top-notch, with a team of two servers taking care of us. The restaurant has an extensive wine list, and our waiter made a great recommendation.

Disappointed. Not worth the money was terribly expensive . There were 6 of us for happy hour ordered two appetizers plus the gumbo from regular menu and a $60 bottle of wine. The bill was almost $300 for average food and below average service. The hostess at the door met us with a less than friendly demeanor which did not help with the experience to begin with. Will not be back way too expensive for the quality of restaurant.

Reef is never a disappointment.... the mac and cheese is delectable.... we had the cobia and Brussel Sprouts and some oysters it all was amazing. Can't wrong with anything coming from a kitchen by Caswell

Always the freshest and broadest selection of gulf seafood. The wine list is amazing and by far the best overall value anywhere in town.
