Romuls - HOOD RIVER

One of the best italian restaurants I have ever been to in my life, including my travels in Italy. Noodles and sauces are made fresh in house

I've always wanted to go to Italy for the food. Now I only want to come back here.

Over last weekend my husband and I visited Hood River for the first time. We had a late lunch early dinner but at about 7pm we were craving dessert. A local, highly recommended the desserts at Romul's so we went downtown. We were greeted by the owner and he showed us to a table, leaving us menus. We browsed them and immediately decided that we would come back the next night for dinner! When the waiter came to take our order we asked to see the dessert menu. He left to go get it (we thought) but instead the owner came back to our table, picked up the menus and told us that it was his prime time and that we could not take a table for just dessert. He turned on his heels and left us there, more than a little shocked! We have never been asked to leave an establishment. He was unapologetic, abrupt and rude. Needless to say we did not return for dinner the next night nor will we ever visit his restaurant again. It doesn't matter how good the food is or what the atmosphere is like or even what the level of service from the waitstaff is if the leadership is that brazen with potential customers.

Good old fashioned Italian offerings. Service was very friendly.
