First time trying this restaurant since the pics looked so good on IG and we absolutely loved visiting Osaka!! We were able to get 7:30pm reservations on a Weds, but it wasn't too crowded when we got there early. Our server Mike was very kind and helpful. We ordered hot teas with lemon and water. Started out with Sashimi 3 set; Salmon, Hamachi, and Ahi. I was so impressed with the cut of Hamachi! My fav! It was fresh and a generous size. Next we each had Udon. The thin noodles were delish with seaweed and tempura flakes. The Grilled Sausage was a nice presentation with side bean sprouts. Very nicely done. The Grilled Avocado was also very good with the sashimi sauce. Last entree was the Okonomiyaki with Shrimp!! Beautifully made and great flavor! This is why I decided to try this place out! I love the time I had Okonomiyaki in Osaka, Japan... it was the BEST, but this was still very good! I give this 2nd best in my book! We topped it off with Yuzu sorbet. Light and refreshing. Overall, excellent dining experience! Mahalo!
Heard about this place from a friend. It's a small restaurant located at the McCully Shopping Center with plenty of free parking. It's actually hidden behind a staircase that leads to the second floor. So it's hard to see from the road side. We started with drinks, Green Tea and a glass of water with lemon wedges. Our list of foods started with grilled sausage $9.50, udon x2 $7.80, grilled avocado $4.95, okonomiyaki with shrimp $14.50, and 3 kind sashimi(ahi, hamachi, and salmon $12.50). We had Yuzu sorbet for dessert. Everything on the menu was great. It really reminded us of Osaka, Japan. Everything was tasty and flavorful. Server's was attentive and made sure we always had our water and tea full. I'm already looking forward for our next visit here to try different menu items.
Osaka Teppanyaki is located in the McCullough shopping center, right behind the elevators on the first floor. It was called something else before. I like that it's clean and brightly lit inside. The service is also really good, but also understandable since there were only 3 tables occupied when we visited on a Saturday night. We ordered the salmon roll, the yakisoba and the ginger pork. With 2 drinks, dinner came out to a little over $50 for 2 people. Not that it was really that expensive, I just didn't think it was worth it. I'd rather go elsewhere. The best thing we ordered was the yakisoba. I think next time, I'd get the okonomiyaki, since the other two tables ordered that. The kimchee pork was a small portion for $12. Rice was not included, either. The salmon roll was bad. Don't order it. He salmon didn't taste fresh and the avocado was unripe. It also came with a spicy sauce that made the whole thing seem kind of slimy. McCullough shopping center is one of my least favorite shopping centers because the parking is so terrible. I don't think I'll come back to Osaka anytime soon, unfortunately.
We had the Chicken Nan, cold tofu, Oden, Kim Chee fried rice, hamachi sashimi, spicy tuna poke...good food and great service.
