Mr Gilberti's Place Chicago Pizza

Pizza was phenomenal!! It's a quaint out of the way little Italian pizzeria. Wine selection is OK beer selection not so much. Prices are steep but because the Pizza was so good I really didn't mind spending a little extra.

Stumbled across the place, cozy and friendly, enjoyed the food, will deffinatly visit again.

Had to try since we've lived in Chicago our whole lives! The ambience of the place is on point. We sat in the back room. Which had pictures and memorabilia all from Chicago. Our server could've been more friendly Instead of just getting our order and trying to flip the table. The pizza was good BUT whatever seasoning you put on top is wayyyy to much! Overpowered all the other flavors the pizza had to offer. Bathroom was my fav part!

One of the best meals my wife and I have ever had. We ordered the Mr. Gilberto Chicago style pizza. The menu said it would be 30 to 60 minutes until we got our pizza and it came in about 25 minutes. The pizza was done perfectly and was one of the best, if not the best we've ever had. Their sauce is great and there are plenty of ingredients, including meat, which is rare. The best part of the pizza is their marinated peppers. They are slightly sweet and really stand out and make the rest of the ingredients play well together. The seasoning that is sprinkled on the top brings out the flavor of the tomato sauce. The staff is exceptional. The run around d the place and make sure everything is perfect and if not, remedies it immediately. The atmosphere of the place is old-school Italian and is decorated with MANY pictures of happy and famous patrons. To top of the great meal, they had a lemon cake for dessert. It was sublime and it tasted as good the next day as it was that night. This place is a must stop!! Not sure we can get a chance to drive 650 miles to visit again, but certainly will if we are ever even within 2 hours!!
