Vanny's Cambodian - Hobart

This is one of my favorite places to get a quick, filling and tasty eating, I have been going to vanny’s for over 13 years. very recommend the chicken kewers w/ erdnusssauce salat and noodles (there is also the possibility of some chili for those who like it more spicy). highly recommended. every restaurant that can leave me back for 13 years is worth 5 stars in my book.

The food is sitting in a bain marie, a selection of curries from lamb, beef, chicken, vegetable, the curry is nice enough but a bit tired and nothing spectacular. Didn't stand out as particularly Cambodian flavoured. Curries are served with rice or noodles and some salad (sliced iceberg lettuce).Price is reasonable, $14.50 for lamb curry. The ambience is pretty basic. This place is fine if you're after an average curry.

Went there with friends before an evening lecture. Picked our meals from the bain marie - a good choice of meat and vegetable only dishes. Generous portions on each plate but the plates were cold and the food quickly cooled losing its flavour. What we had was tasty and good value.

Fantastic flavours and really good value. The lamb curry was complex and tender. Chicken satay and peanut sauce delicious. Well worth a visit. Hand written menu and basic but comfortable seating. Easy to miss, but a tasty reward for the keen eye. $1 per person for BYO. This is easily now one of my favourite places to eat.
