Mekan Chargrilled Kebabs - HIGHBURY

The server was unfriendly and the portion size of the kebab was disappointingly small. It was a very thin kebab with minimal filling. Overall, it was very underwhelming for the price of $15.

This could be the best kebab shop in Australia, and I have had a lot of kebabs. The standout feature is their freshly baked flatbread. The staff is lovely and the portion sizes are generous. The boxes they serve the food in are also great.

I stopped by for a quick meal and was delighted to find beautifully photographed gozleme, pida, and other authentic Turkish dishes alongside the more common shish kebab, burger, and pizza. The pida I ordered was incredibly delicious and filling, and the service was warm and friendly. I will definitely be returning for another visit.

My friend and I was driving around past dinner time looking for a place to eat... Bearing in mind that most of the place closes at 5 as what we were told by our friends, we were pleased when we saw the whole area brightly...lit with a lot of food options. We were intrigued by the sign and small cosy place of mekan... we had the chicken kebab and the pide... both were delicious... while eating, we saw the staff getting ready the other orders and we couldn't help it but drool over those as well.. serving size is good (big)... counter staff was a little cold at first, but after a while he started getting friendly. maybe we were there during the busy crowd.. wanted to try the meat box and the Turkish pizza, but we couldn't eat anymore by the end of our meal. saw a lot of people taking away the pizza, I wish we'd ordered that. will go there again if have the opportunity.
