Cafe Gouda - Hickory

Great local restaurant, great food and friendly staff. Only thing I wish would be addressed is the general cleanliness of the dining area. Tables are usually covered in crumbs from previous customers. But that’s easy to look past since everything is good.

The restaurant itself was pretty all right it not being to busy and art work lining the artwork liking the wall, but this review is not about the location and atmosphere, but the service, in particular the food. I ordered a lunch combo, and on the bored there is a description that you could get half a sandwich, and 2 sides. When I went to order apparently the sandwich counts as apart of the sides and you could only get one side. Did not really care that much but this paird with how we waited 20 minutes for 2 meals is just crazy to me. The place was not to busy and the place was definitely not understaffed there being 4 waiters all outfront on there phones and talking amongst themselves. Plus the food itself was greasy as can be when I got the food and could only eat half of it *I ordered the Monte Cristo*

Got the all meat and all veggie omelet with house fries. Delicious!! Also got a strawberry shortcake Frappuccino. I know they must have these in heaven!! They are that good!!

Quality food at very affordable prices. Laid back atmosphere.

Had some of the chicken and rice soup. Tasted very much like campbell’s soup. Waited 30 mins, probably waited for someone to buy a can from the nearest grocery store. ???
