The Simple Greek - Hermitage

Surprisingly fresh food from a cafeteria style establishment. Even with two 80+ seniors in tow, everyone was happy and no digestion issues that evening or the next day. This is huge! We were on a long two day drive and couldn't afford and additional stops. I ordered my meal built on a regular pita, though you could order whole wheat. I had falafel with tzaziki sauce, tomatoes, lettuce and feta. It was delicious! Hubbster had them build a gyro, which he also enjoyed. Since they build your order exactly as you prefer, it was easy to exclude what we didn't want and add anything that looked good. All the available ingredients looked very fresh. Three of us had the Greek, Avgolemono soup, which is basically a lemony chicken and rice soup, which was excellent! Brown rice is also an option. We also had the baklava and rice pudding for dessert. The baklava was very good. The rice pudding is actually a mashup of cheesecake and creamy Greek style rice pudding. Super rich! Thankful for all the Yelp reviews on this place, helped us make a great decision. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for any delicious and healthy! While they have indoor seating, it was perfect for carry out. And the young woman who took care of us was knowledgeable and kind, great service. I wish we had this restaurant in Northern MI, I'd be there once a week, easily.

The food and service I have experienced here has always been very acceptable. I always order the gyro meat for my meal. Not so sure about the chicken. I like food as fresh as possible for several reasons. One night I stopped for a late dinner. They were close to closing time. They loaded the whole grill up with chicken to cook. Obviously getting a jump start on the next day. Refrigerate and warm up the next day. Not feeling that at all. Especially with chicken. Just my observation. Would still recommend this place though. Just might think twice about ordering chicken. Sorry but that's pure honesty. Hope this helps.

I came across this spot when looking for a place that has vegetarian options. Super excited to see a lot of choices! You can customize your order and they'll make it just how you want it. I recommend the falafel bowl. Definitely ordering from here again.

Meat is dry everything taste like vinegar is horribly seasoned (if seasoned at all).

A large family went through the ordering line, none of them were wearing masks. None of the waitstaff said or did anything. This restaurant clearly doesn't care about your health.
