Golden Cross - Herefordshire, County of

Came here for our dinner whilst on holiday. Brought our dogs and sat downstairs. Food was nice and tasty and beer was nice. Of all the pubs we visited this holiday this one seemed a bit soulless and lacking character. Can’t put my finger on it as food and drink was fine and the lady who served us was good. Possibly due to fact as we walked in had snide comments from locals, so maybe this tainted it for us.

This is a small country pub with a big heart. The Landlord was welcoming and knowledgeable. The fair was comprehensive and delicious. The range of ales was great all sourced locally. Attention to detail was everything. I order 3 coffees and a Tea at the end of our visit and suggested I would like a mug for the Tea. I got a massive cup and saucer and 2 little pots to fill it. It’s those things that make a visit memorable. Go and enjoy. Booking is advisable.

Great meals. Standard have not slipped over lock down. **** and Bull and Beef Stroganoff eaten and enjoyed.

Picnic box, for 2 to take out, excellent, will be having another one this week. good variety fresh roll, cheese, ham, pickle, salad, sausage roll, drink, 4 cakes, 6.00 for two can't go wrong !!

Popped into the Golden cross for Sunday lunch. Lovely found at really good prices. Will visit again soon I’m sure.
