Daylesford Bowling Club

Would not go again some guests did not receive a meal they got their money back) and they sent out cold side serve of mash potatoe...they ran out of a lot of things on the menu some basics like garlic bread chips the list goes on and it wasn't that busy.

Due to a very late cancellation by another restaurant, we ended up at the Daylesford Bowling Club for dinner. As we didn't have a booking, we were told we had to take a table in the bar area. No problem for us, but couldn't understand why as most of the tables in the other area were emptly and remained so while we had our dinner! Quite a big menu to choose from order at the counter for food and purchase very reasonably priced drinks at the bar. My husband had the steak (I think it was steak special night) and I had the chicken schnitzel. Both came with chips salad. Very generous servings at a good price. The steak was very good, however my chicken was a little dry. Enjoyed sitting watching the locals as we ate our meal

This is a surprise find in Daylesford. Friends and I went to the Bowling Club for drinks and dinner on a Thursday evening. The atmosphere is great. Nice decor; staff are really friendly; there's plenty of room, and the regular and special menu was great! The drinks were great value too (you can't say that anywhere else in Daylesford! The fish and chips was very generous. It was great to see staff selling raffle tickets to support a local charity too! We'll be back!

I have visited this restaurant a few times. The staff is friendly and there is a good selection of beers at a reasonable price. The balcony overlooking the bowling grounds is a great place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. It is a quiet place to spend a few hours.

Caution: relying on previous chef's reviews may lead to disappointment. The restaurant is now only average at best. After hearing mixed reviews, I decided to keep it simple and ordered the Basic Chicken Parma. Unfortunately, it was a sloppy mess. There is nothing likable about this dish anymore.
