Alt Heidelberg - Helen

Better than in Germany... We heard from locals that the old Heidelberg has new owners, so we went there to try... and we're glad we did. Everything was rebuilt, the menu was great and the staff was excellent, the German boss made an excellent work with the carving. Most employees speak German and English, the pub below was authentic for a pub in Germany-we had the best time ever. The music was great, over 50 different beers and wines from all over the world... we don't have to go to Germany... Once again new owners will see you soon.

Today we went to Helen and ate in the Alt Heidelberg Restaurant. The decoration in this restaurant looks like it comes from a garage sale. The table dresses a funky green color. At the entrance we already noticed the atmosphere. Then we should have been right. The service of a woman and a male in jogging pants was terrible. The food was under any grading. Sauerkraut was served cold. The mixed green was with sauerkraut, which is completely unheard in Germany. The coke was served in plastic cups, the coffee in some cheap 50 cent cups. Not to mention the taste of the so-called Black-Forrest cake. This cake must have been three weeks ago. They added cream from the can to cover the yellowish whip. The waiter had a jogging pants with obviously nothing underneath. It was bad. This place is far too expensive. You can't even get a glass for your beer. I strongly recommend going through this place. Don't eat there. There's no idea how old the food is. It was a great disappointment.
