Lion & Bull Restuarant - Haymarket

We've visited Lion & Bull several times, and so far have enjoyed every visit.

Came in with a large party on Sunday They had a host of specials for football and we asked and only the drink specials were communicated.

Never Again. I've been to Lion Bull several times over the past year due to convenience to my home. To date, I've never had a decent mixed drink regardless of who was working the bar. New Year's Eve dinner was a complete disaster. Although our waitress was hustling to keep the drinks flowing, she couldn't get the cooks to keep up. We had other couples with us (at various tables) and non of us got our dinner in less than hrs mins from our reservation time. The manager/owner comp'ed most of the meals if one complained enough. Once the main course arrived, most of us boxed it. One couple cancelled altogether. I gagged down about bites but just couldn't do anymore for fear of getting sick. Horrible fish and pasta! As the place became packed with partiers, it became very hot. Two men at our table took off their outter shirts yet had on nice t-shirts. The manager/owner flew into a tizzy over their non-compliance with the dress code When asked about his non-compliance with the advertised four course elegant dinner he pointed to his poster about the dress code and refused to budge. Our option was to leave or put the shirts back on. Nice way to treat guests who suffered through your pitiful planning. But the best of the night was when his co-manager offered that the food was slow, bad, etc because (wink, wink) that's what you get when you hire heroin addicts Seriously? This is something you want to tell your already-unhappy patrons? Never again...there has to be a better bar band club nearby somewhere. This place does not deserve to stay in business with that performance and attitude.

Go somewhere else. Went there for the first time last night. As soon as I walked in several Motorcycle gang members making a lot of noise and fighting with people. The security was non-existent and the place was definitely not a safe place to be at.
