Kestrel is part of the Vintage Inns chain of pubs, which offers several vegan options on their menu that I found to be quite delicious. During my visit, I enjoyed the squashsage and fungus roll for starters, followed by the Penang Curry for my main course. The curry had a fresh Thai aroma with a good level of spice. For dessert, I tried the Panna Cotta which was delightfully fresh and smooth, topped with plenty of fresh fruit. I also had the Moving Mountains Burger, which I had enjoyed on a previous visit. Overall, there are plenty of delicious vegan options on the menu at Kestrel, making it a great choice for both vegans and their omni friends or family.
I made a reservation for a table of 8 at Rank, but I was told that they no longer cater to vegans since the lockdown. However, I was still able to have soup and salad. The menu options were limited for vegan customers.
We had a really good dining experience on Wednesday night at The Kestrel. Three friends and I tried the festive menu, which offered a choice of two or three courses. As someone with celiac disease who needs to avoid gluten, I often struggle to find suitable options when dining out. However, our server Jack was knowledgeable and helpful in pointing out which dishes were gluten-free. My friends who do eat gluten also enjoyed their meals. Overall, it was a great night with delicious food and wonderful company.
