Costa - Harrogate

Decor-wise, the chosen colour scheme here doesn’t take account of the relative lack of natural light and the overall effect is to give the cafe a rather dull look. It is however very spacious, clean and comfortable. The service and coffees were up to the high standards expected of the chain.

These alternative roast options sometimes if cafes are barely noticeable. Not so the winter roast at Costa. I dropped off my daughter for a school trip away today and had time before work to pull into the loading bay and grab a winter roast latte. Very good coffee, worth the little extra, these days prefer to do this than add any syrup especially as I have gone sugar free. I never bought one but I see they have strawberry croissants now, I bet my departing daughter would have liked one of those.

There were piles of dirty tables stacked with dishes. I had to sit at a dirty table because there were no other options. The light shades and walls were covered in dust. The restaurant definitely needs more than just two staff members. It's a shame.

The wait was extremely long, they were out of syrups and cream for the second week in a row, tables were not cleaned, and there were only 2 staff members working.

The recent refit and table configuration here is a retrograde step. the lighting is very poor. Used to enjoy hanging out here but quality of coffee isnt what it used to be
