We weren’t able to stay, the server was very rude and was mad because we asked to sit at a larger table since we would be sharing. When we walked in, she told us to sit anywhere. We sat at the table with the turning glass, to allow us to share. She then told us that the table was for 8 people. There were 6 of us and only two other tables were being used. The tables she was pointing to for us to sit were in direct sun light, it 106F outside. We asked if we could sit at the table for 8, she agreed. We sat down and she kept yelling at us from the other side of the servers station. She didn’t give us menus, we grabbed them ourselves. She brought us water but continued to tell us that the table was for 8 people. My son asked for a bubble tea since it’s displayed on their window and before he could finish asking, she said they had none. She then proceeded to put down water cups angrily and was still telling us how inconvenient it was to have a party of 6 sit at a table for 8. It’s not the first time one of us has been there. Food is great, service is horrible. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else.
A truly dreadful experience in every aspect. I’ll start with the only positive being our waitress who was training and tried her best despite her overbearing, scattered trainer interfering. The food itself was overpriced, bland and essentially all oil.Complicating matters was being served a bowl of oily undercooked tofu and then being told rice was extra unless we order the entree which is explained nowhere on the poorly organized menu. This is by far the worst Chinese food I’ve had the displeasure of eating and one of the worst dining experiences in Portland.
Rushed from work to get to this restaurant. Walked in at 9:03 pm and was denied service. I eat at this place a lot and know they close at 9:30 pm. I guess my business isn't valuable to them. On top of everything when I showed displeasure she offered for me to order to go. So the kitchen isn't closed but you still wouldn't take us. And there was at least 10 people still eating. If you want to close at 9pm just change your hours to 9pm.
Our Chinese neighbor recommended this place and said the twice cooked pork is the best she has had outside of China. We are so glad she told us. We have been back a few times now, and everything we have tried is delicious. The twice cooked pork and the salted egg yolk shrimp are our favorites so far.
A great place to get delicious authentic Chinese food. The Shredded Pork In Being Bean Sauce is definitely our favorite (we usually end up ordering two).Parking: Same parking lot as WinCo Food.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on the ground floor and has handicap parking.
