The Preserve Kitchen Travaasa Hana

We celebrated our second anniversary there three years ago, and it was truly wonderful.

Food was very salty ribs were ordered as were the coleslaw that came with the meal- Both parties had the same dish with the same results

After driving to Hana, this was a beautiful, relaxing lunch on the veranda with gorgeous view.

After driving the Road to Hana for 2 1/2 hours we were looking forward to our lunch at this luxe resort. It was a total disappointment. This place is tired. The floors need to be redone. Everything is looking old and uncared for. We were also disappointed with the menu. My husband’s burger was so salty we had to switch dishes because he could barely eat it. It doesn’t even come with anything else on the plate. You have to pay extra for fries. The beet salad was strange and we could not eat it all. The fish tacos were very boring and the fish of the day was very strong and fishy. It wasn’t worth the price either. We should have had lunch at one of the roadside taco places instead. To top it all off their espresso machine broke down and was never replaced.....and this is a luxe resort. I hope the rooms are better.

Had an 8:00 reservation, got seated at 8:30 they said bc people stayed after finishing to watch the music/hula show but it’s not like that was an unexpected or new event for them. Everything in Hawaii costs more, but even for a hotel on Maui we felt the food was overpriced $45 fish, $35 ribs, $24 burger). Dinner menu has only four entrees burger, fish, ribs, _____) we got 2 fish and 3 burgers which everyone agreed were over-salted. The fish was fresh and well-cooked, but the sauce was heavy and sweet for my taste, but not much by island standards). We ordered three starters, one didn’t arrive til after we finished the first two. Fries were soggy, like they sat too long. For a kitchen charging this much for farm-to-table cuisine, the preparation and prices disappointed.
