My first time it was great brisket sandwich no sauce but I had onions put on it then I wanted to try their coleslaw, side salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing, and Brunswick stew great crackling cornbread on the side and then I got my husband barbecuechicken sandwich with macaroni and cheese on the side

Hands down the best BBQ place I 've ever been to! It was soo delicious! I had sweet tea, 1/2 chicken, Brunswick stew, Mac 'n Cheese (which is made from scratch, and so creamy! , the pork pit fries, the peach cobbler and my mom had a baked potato, stew,and coleslaw (I tried it, and I don 't usually like coleslaw, but it was delicious! Their BBQ sauce is amazing too! It isn 'toverly sweet, but it 's tangy. Also, my server was Colleen, and she was an absolute sweetheart, so definitely ask for her whenyou go! I live an hour away, but I will be back again, because it 's totally worth it!

If you're looking for the best BBQ on the Southside, this is the place to go. The food is consistently amazing, and the sides are excellent too. If you don’t want to travel all the way to Fox Bros., definitely come here instead. I would gladly drive past five other BBQ joints just to eat here. The wait isn’t too long, but make sure to save me a spot!

I’ve been dining at Southern Pit for 30 years, and the food has always been fantastic! My favorite is the small pork plate, while my husband usually orders the ribs and shares a few with me. It's simply perfect!
