Top quality steak restaurant on Bath Street in Glasgow. We sat downstairs and went for Scottish King Scallops to start. 4 arrived on the plate and they were really good, bit of a meaty flavour and texture to them. For mains we ordered the Chateaubriand cooked medium rare. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Came with 2 sides and 2 sauces. Went with chips, peppercorn sauce and chimchurri sauce. Highly recommend.
After arriving in Glasgow we wanted to find somewhere nice to eat close by to our Ibis hotel. The mini grill steakhouse had excellent reviews and looked like it offered some very nice steaks as well as burgers, pork and haggis meals. We booked a reservation and our table was ready on time and the restaurant wasn't over crowded. We ordered drinks, starters and mains and all came very quickly and the food was very tasty and good value for money. Cant really fault the food, our glasgow trip was off to a great start.
Oh I love steaks and this place’s food certainly didn’t disappoint. Oh arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of staff and she took us to our table. My wife and I were the only ones there but more people did arrive shortly after. The menu isn’t too extensive but to me that means quality over quantity. We did notice that one of our knives was a little dirty but a quick wipe sorted that out. The other waitress that served us was also nice, although a little rougher. The food was brilliant! We both ordered the ribeye steak (cannot remember the exact name) and it was so tender and delicious. All the accompaniments were also really nice. My wife got haggis filled Yorkshire pudding and I got roasted Rosemary potatoes. The highlight for me was the chimichurriIf sauce. It was easily the best I’ve had (not had it many times) and tasted delightful. Our desserts were also very nice. I got the raspberry soufflé and my wife got the honeycomb meringue thing. Both of which were quite unique but very nice. I really like the portions were excessive that you get at most places these days but big enough to satisfy you. Our dinner was responsibly priced considering the quality of the meal. It would be wrong of me if I did mention some negatives, even if they are so minor. I was being picky, I noticed that the waitress that served us was a little lazy when putting the cutlery down as they weren’t straight (the small details are important especially at a expensive restaurant). When asking what a particular sauce was she didn’t appear too familiar with it and didn’t sell it very well. We just had water at our table but I noticed that they had limited supply of alcohol as another table had to get offered something else as their original request wasn’t fulfilled. Despite these minor negatives we still had a great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.
Good food in here, 500 gram sirloin is a right good feed, mine came with chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and Blue Cheese sauce which is actually served cold..sauce is very tasty, but a warm sauce for me is the preference. Good service, 5 starters, 5 steaks, 5 desserts, lots of drinks 370.. not at all expensive and good staff.. Will return for sure...
