Everything is made fresh, and the menu offers a wide variety of choices. Plus, you can bring your own drinks without facing outrageous corkage fees. The short soup is outstanding, and the san choi bao is among the best I've ever had. The tofu with snow peas is also delightful. My partner typically orders the duck, which he adores, but he has also enjoyed many other dishes from the menu. The staff are wonderful and always make us feel very welcome. If you're in a rush, just let them know, but if you’re looking for a relaxing dinner with great food, this is the perfect spot.
The ONLY place in Gisborne with good Chinese food. Nice and clean. Marvellous chef, Tony. I am a chef and would not eat elsewhere. Simply, THE BEST !!
It was dinner time in Gisborne, and I was searching for some Chinese cuisine. I came across Emperor Tang Restaurant and decided to give it a try. Although I was the only customer dining in, there were several takeaway customers patiently waiting. The ambiance was very inviting, and the waitstaff were quite attentive. I ordered prawn dumplings, which were cooked to perfection. Next, I had the shredded boneless duck, and it was absolutely delicious. This place is definitely worth a visit!
We have been fans of Emperor Tang's for many years. It has a certain elegance that many local Chinese restaurants lack. With white tablecloths, candles, and a comfortable amount of space, it creates a lovely atmosphere. They also have a specials board featuring some truly delicious dishes. I highly recommend it—actually, I'm headed there tonight!
The food is really nice not overly priced you can afford to take the whole family which is a bonus for the average working people these days
