Farmer Boys is new to me. We happened to be by one in California so we stopped to try it. It was great so when we got to Phoenix area we purposely looked one up for dinner. Food portions are large, and food was fresh and hot.
I wish I could rate this place higher, I truly do.I have had the absolute worst experience with an employee named Bruno . On a previous visit, I had swapped my burger bun with the sourdough and it came out on the pseudo garlic bread. It was delicious. I come in the other day and order a burger on the sourdough with Bruno and there was no indication it was going to be brought out and plain bread. When the food arrives to the table, its on plain bread and as Im trying to talk to this person, there 's no offer to remake the food with the bread I was expecting. They walked away. What kind of customer service is that? There were 2 groups in the restaurant at the time, mine and one other. The drive thru wasnt busy. There was no excuse to not offer my family a better experience. There are two locations for FB 's here in the valley and I 'm tempted to drive from Mesa to West Phoenix/Buckeye for a better experience. There is no atmosphere here, outside of transactional. You order they bring the food maybe take your tray and you leave. More often than not, there is no real pleasantries or customer service appeal.Pictures include what was expected VS what was given.
We went there expecting a really good burger but instead we got frozen premade patties. Not too good! The fries and chocolate shake were really good. And extremely overpriced onion rings, 4 for$6.50. And they were frozen too. don’t really see myself giving this place a second shot. Very nice inside though. They obviously put a lot of money into the place. They need to upgrade them burgers big time.
I've visited this place a couple of times and on my latest visit, I tried the Parmesan crusted Cheese burger. The grilled Parmesan sourdough bread was the highlight of the burger, it was just delicious. However, I was disappointed with the burger itself. For the prices that Farmer Boys charge, I expected better quality. The two patties were thin and lacked color, making them look unappetizing. Unfortunately, the burger lacked flavor and was outshined by the bread. The limp lettuce was also a letdown, it was not crisp and appeared wilted. On the bright side, the service was good and the restaurant was clean, aside from a few dirty tables. Overall, it's not a terrible place, but there are better options out there for the same price. I would suggest opting for a sit-down restaurant that offers better quality burgers for the same price. If you do decide to visit Farmer Boys, I recommend trying the thicker Natural burger, as it has a better chance of being juicy and flavorful.
