Starchief Diner - Gelsenkirchen

At the moment of this review the diner has a rating of 3.9 stars. And this corresponds well to the situation. The diner tries to emulate a 60s diner atmosphere, but sadly the customers are quiet Germans and not loud Americans and so the immersion falls a little bit short. The waiters are polite, helpful and tentative. The burgers are fine, but I don't recommend the American pancakes. Generally the prices feel a little high for the quantity and the quality of the food served. Bottom line: it's an okay restaurant but do not expect something extraordinary.

We were there yesterday 1st june. I hope the owner sees this review. The blonde waitress you had this day around 4:30 pm was extremely rude to us. She was terrible and she kept on doing ugly faces to us, because we didnt see the dips on the menu. We asked only for ketchup and mayo and she was telling to my husband : you are not understanding anything! You have ti choose other flavors!!! And she rolled her eyes, several times. THEN SHE WAS LAUGHING AT US WITH THE OTHER WAITRESS!!!! Also the first round of spare ribs were so old, that there was no meat on them!!!! . Last but not least, she never came to clean our table, we were full of dirty dishes. It was our baby first birthday and honestly it was a very bad experience. So sad that she saw it was a special ocassion and she treated us SO BAD.

The first time I was here 8 years ago and was delighted with the authentic furnishings and food. So I was happy to be random in Gelsenkirchen last week. Still very tasty burgers, great supplements, Coleslawsalat with light dressing. Very friendly boss. Eating was on time. I hope I'll be there soon!

For the second time, I was already there and am thrilled by how this place stimulates my creativity in writing. Then eat and drink delicious and change some beautiful words. What do you want?

Last one year ago. We were all super satisfied. It was delicious. There is also a wide selection for vegetarians. The ambience is clearly based on American style. The attention was paid to the smallest details. The seats are super comfortable. We all felt comfortable and even grandpa... that is not for burgers and pommes... asked ..wann we go back to the ami
