Barcenas Mexican Restaurant

Took my wife for her bday dinner with a few friends. Staff was great and food was excellent

I was recommended to try this place out so I did and I'm glad I did. Everything was excellent from the chips and salsa, to the plate that I ordered to the staff. I was impressed and can't wait to come back.

Been here a couple times, food is I'd say 90% authentic. Growing up eating nothing but authentic Mexican food cooked by my mother, it's very difficult to find great authentic Mexican food. But definitely recommend Barcenas, make sure you know what you order though, it bothers me to hear people order the basics all the time like fajitas, nachos, har shell tacos etc. Be brave and try something new, ask Tempe waitress waiter what they recommend or order from the specialties menu. Don't forget to get yourself a cold beer, goes great with good food always.

Update: Went again with my son. I ordered the breakfast Machacado burrito. $14 and very bland. Just ground beef and egg. No seasoning . Very average. Good service but standard mexican food. Nothing from the chips and dip to the to the fajitas stood out. Come to think of it the prices were a little over considering the average food.
