Stapleford Park - Freeby

We went here for afternoon tea. What a beautiful setting. The service was great on the whole, but we did have to wait quite some time for our tea. It was worth the wait. The sandwiches were delicious, the scones were light and fluffy, and the little cakes were unusual and scrumptious. We would like to praise the duty manager, whose name I have sadly misplaced. He is a charming gentleman from Poland. He gave us great service whilst dealing with a difficult group of guests with charm. He deserves a bonus for that!!! Went for Afternoon tea. Really dissapointed with the restaurant service. The reception service was marvellous. The mansion was lovely. The afternoon tea was mediocre, nothing out of the ordinary. The service was polite but most inattentive and disinterested. I almost felt we were racially discriminated.such a let down for my birthday celebration...we will not visit again and would not recommend Service: 1 Location: 2 Hotel highlights: Luxury

Comfortable, attractive. Lovely grounds. Good gym. Friendly staff Food not worth having though, overpriced and bland. Rooms: Beautiful room, mullioned windows, so quiet. Uninterrupted grassland and fields. BUT... Please offer teapot, not every likes cheap tea bags in a mug. Coffee pods could be much better as well. Bathroom large and old fashioned-yummy. Bed big and comfy Please offer more than basic terrestrial TV for those of us not doing other things... Walkability: Grounds large and lovely. Easy to walk to local villages on quiet ish roads.
