We picked up the large order for an office party. Food was cooked well and tasted good. Green beans were not our favorite. They were a bit spicy.
This could have easily been a one star review. We were hosting my wife 's family for Christmas so I pre-ordered food from this JNN location roughly ten days in advance with a very specific pickup time as we had purchased tickets to a show for the whole family that started at 8:00. The bad news was that there was a screw-up in the kitchen and for some reason they didn 't start on our order until I got there to pick it up. I had to wait about 45 minutes for the food to be ready which really put us in a bind on time. No one can travel back in time to undo a mistake, but the good part was that after the mistake was made, the manager (Al I believe) jumped on it and he and the staff did everything they possibly could to make it right. He even offered to personally drive the slower cooking items to our house so I could take what was ready sooner so we could get started. I wound up waiting for the whole order, but wanted to say I was really impressed by the lengths they went to trying to make it right for the customer after that initial mistake. Oh, and the food was delicious.
This is a very well run location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone had a great attitude. We ordered the beef brisket and smoked turkey. Turkey was excellent and had a nice smoke ring. Brisket was pretty good. Some of the brisket had dried out a bit, but there were slices that were super tender and delicious. My wife had the collared greens. Nice flavor but slightly over salted. Overall, we had a great experience, and my wife told the manager how great the staff was.
This was a weird, weird experience. I hadn 't been to this location in a long time, so I was shocked at the new casual dining format. You order your food from a register, and an employee brings it out to you. I was only disappointed because the service has always been so great at JNN and was worried the experience wouldn 't be the same. I was right. They brought out our food and I had asked for a baked potato with white meat chicken. When the young man brought it out, it was clearly dark meat. I said, Um that looks like dark meat. And the guy said, Do you want me to go ask? Ask what? You work at a BBQ joint but you don 't know the difference in white and dark meat? I kept it because it just wasn 't the end of the world. No one ever came to check on us during our meal. I got up to go order a drink and the bartender was not there, so the hostess said she could help. I ordered a drink (alcohol and asked to make it a double. Long after I was sure she 'd forgotten, she brought me.. 2 drinks. Oh Lord. A double is a drink with two shots of alcohol. I just don 't know how you work at a restaurant with a bar in it and don 't know that? The rest of the dinner was just really awkward. We were the only customers in there until an older couple came in and the hostess actually smiled at them (parents maybe? No one asked us how our food was, but the hostess and servers(runners? were gathered by the bar for the entirety of our meal. I get that it 's casual dining but like.. do you not just walk by a table and ask how everything is? Sigh. I worked at the location on Charlotte for a while and I loved the food. The environment was always warm and friendly, like you were having dinner at a friend 's house. This new format.. it just needs work. I don 't pay $50 for a meal to get the wrong food then be ignored. Like even when I go to Captain D 's an employee looks in my direction and asks if I 'm okay. Lol The food was good as always! But I can 't get past the poor service. I will still go through the drive through, though, because I really enjoy the food!
