Contribuiți la feedbackI discovered this restaurant on a snowy day while visiting Fort St. John and decided to take a walk to find somewhere to grab a bite to eat.
London Bull is a part of the Brown's restaurant group, known for their popular Social houses that can be found throughout the province.
During my week in FSJ, I decided to try out a few other restaurants in town.
This is a trendy little place with a unique menu. A modern day public house concoted by Scotty Morison, the mind that brought us Brown's SocialHouse. The menus of both establishments are decidedly different from most pubs and both use fresh and local produce and proudly make their own dips and sauces from scratch, which is refreshing. The menu has very little to do with traditional London pub fare, but does have an extremely large pot pie and some pub favorites like Memphis ribs for sharing and calamari. If you are seeking a London feel, this is not the place for you, as it is sleek and modern and appeals to the young professional. Families are welcome here as it is not a pub atmosphere and they seem to enjoy the extremely large portions and the average prices. The place features craft brews and has a very extensive wine list. I was rather hoping to get a proper Ploughmans lunch and a pint of English beer, but I will have to forage further afield for those simple pleasures. However, this is a nice place to enjoy lunch or dinner, and it has good service and pleasant surroundings. I was disappointed that they were out of seafood so I could not try the clam chowder which is described as containing cream and delicate leeks and sounded very delicious, but sadly, they were not able to accomodate us. They comped us two free drinks instead and were anxious for us to return and try again, which is on the agenda. I think this is a good place to eat and if you enjoy large sandwhiches or giant portions of fish and chips, or ribs with a dry rub which are tossed in the very delectable taste of Memphis barbeque sauce, or you want to order the Shrimp Louie which has lovely shrimp and house made thousand islands dressing over iceberg lettuce, this is the place for you.
Went for a paint night and enjoyed a fantastic meal. Super service and friendly staff with a comfortable environment. Definitely coming back.
