Inn At Ft Drum - Fort Drum

The staff here is friendly, check-in/out efficient, larger than average gym, and location is close proximity to Ft. Drum. That isn't enough for me to stay here again or recommend this property. In fact, I advise avoiding this Candlewood. The rooms are dirty (floor not vacuumed, stains on linens, snot/hair/crumbs littering space). There was no hot water between the hours of 0630 and 0800. The furniture was in terrible shape and 2/3 chairs in my room were broken. Other guest I talked with while there also had negative experiences ranging from broken appliances to brown water coming out of faucets. Major disappointment.

If I could score this place a zero or less, I would do so. IHG needs to review this property, as it is embarrassing to be part of their brand. As we checked in, the staff was at least courteous while they explained why it was a good thing that breakfast was not served here (we knew it wasn't and were not expecting breakfast) because it allowed us to use the kitchenettes in our rooms. My business associate and I headed to our rooms and as I got in the elevator, I checked my key packet to see which floor I needed to go to and the packet was blank. I went back to the desk to ask what room I was in and when I showed them that it was blank, the gentleman informed me that he was pretty sure he had TOLD me what room to go to. As I made my way back upstairs, my associate was coming down because his keys had not been activated. Upon making it to my room, the odor that met me was almost overpowering. The smell of stagnant body odor was terrible. I looked for a place to sit while I changed my clothes and noticed the chairs were all worn so badly that the foam was about to come out. It was very hot in my room so I attempted to turn the AC in. There is no way to do so. The selections are auto and off. My thermostat is set at 72 and it is pushing 80 in here. This kept me from sleeping much. At least the bed was comfortable. I dealt with the crappy room because my stay was only for the one night. When I got up to make coffee the pot was full of black specks of filth. I opened the coffee maker and it was moldy, ashy and covered in grounds. This was the basket and the tank. If this was my first IHG experience, I would NEVER use them again. Thankfully I know that most are much better. I will likely never select a Candlewood property in the future if this is a representation of their product.

Stayed in a studio suite for about a week. Good-sized kitchenette with microwave, stove, sink, dishwasher and a full size fridge. They also have other appliances (crock-pots, etc) available upon request and there a covered patio with a propane grill that is available for guests to use. The queen bed was nice and comfy, with both soft and firm pillows (labeled as such on the pillow cases, which is a nice touch). Sizable bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was phenomenal. The only thing lacking in the room was seating. There was an office chair, but that 's all. Some sort of easy chair or recliner would be really nice for people who don 't like sitting on a bed. Service was very friendly with excellent attention to cleanliness and social distancing. I will certainly be staying here if I ever find myself in the Watertown area again.

A very economical, clean hotel for the money. Their customer service goes above and beyond. I left a pair of expensive earbuds in the room by accident while staying here visiting over Thanksgiving, and they shipped them immediately to me for free. I appreciate the honesty and service.

This was our first experience staying at a Candlewood Suites, and it was a fantastic decision! The staff was spectacular—very accommodating and friendly. When we entered our room, it had a cozy, homey feel and was exceptionally clean. I loved that it included a kitchenette, a full fridge, and a comfortable bed. The hotel also has a nice little gym, and you can do your laundry for free, just bring your own supplies. Plus, they are pet-friendly, which is a huge advantage! I highly recommend staying here!
