We booked a late sitting, so it was not too crowded and we enjoyed a bit of seclusion which was nice as I can imagine it would otherwise be busy and noisy. The wait staff and chef were exceptionally good and very attentive. I had made a few special requests when booking and these were all cheerfully accommodated. The food was excellent and obviously of good quality. All in all a very happy experience.
I ordered one of the set menus with my colleagues for a work event. Unfortunately, the dishes all tasted quite similar since they used the same seasonings throughout. I expected to see more cooking techniques and tricks during the meal. Overall, the food wasn’t remarkable; it felt more like we were there just for the experience of watching the chefs cook in front of us and set things on fire.
We visited for a teppanyaki dinner on a Sunday evening at 6 PM, and the restaurant wasn't very crowded. Despite having only one chef, he was efficient in preparing our meal. However, the prices are definitely on the higher side. While it’s worth experiencing, I’m not sure I would return to pay full price.
This is a lovely Teppanyaki restaurant. There's minimal odor from hair and clothes, which is a plus. Unlike some places, there’s no rice throwing or bowl flipping; everything is meant to go into your mouth instead of ending up on the floor. The lighting is great and the space is spacious. You don't need to interact much with the chefs; I only responded with a simple "yes" when asked about things like "big fire?" or "medium please." The food is delicious.
We couldn't even finish our beef burrito, which was quite terrible. We wanted to take it home to fix it ourselves since we paid a good amount for it, but they informed us that they don’t allow leftovers to be taken out. I couldn’t believe it! When the bill arrived, I noticed a 10% surcharge, and when I inquired about it, the staff explained it was due to it being a holiday—New Year's Day. It would have been helpful if they had mentioned this when we made our reservation or as they took our orders. They didn’t apologize for the lack of communication either. The staff treated us dismissively, as if they felt justified in their actions. The waitstaff were generally rude and seemed disengaged from their work. The service was incredibly slow; I had to wait ten minutes for my beer, and only after I prompted them after five minutes did it arrive. The restaurant was nearly empty, so it shouldn't have been that hard to get my drink. Overall, the atmosphere felt strange, and the staff acted as if they were from another world. One young woman was particularly full of herself, strutting around like a model, yet she wasn't even that attractive. The whole experience was just bizarre and unsatisfactory.
