I highly recommend the shakshuka which is cooked in a spicy tomato, onion, capsicum and chilli sauce and is served with bread and hunmus on the side. The hummus and daily made fresh bread is something you cannot go without! Next time I'm certainly trying one of the gourmet sandwiches including the zaatar chicken or the pastrami.
A small Bondi cafe delivering big flavours in the Shakshuka which you can also order as a share dish for two. Four eggs are nestled in a rich, flavoursome tomato sauce and served with a side of hommus and toast for a satisfying brunch.
Great place in Bondi with a wonderful vibe. Quick service, good coffee and the best salads. Friendly service and well worth eating at. Highly recommended.
Visited Lyfe cafe in Bondi for brunch on a sunny Saturday. The cafe was reasonably busy, we were greeted and seated by the the owner who was a real character, quite funny and welcoming. Coffee and shakshukas ordered all around. The coffee was decent and the shaks were tasty. The sauce was thick with a bit of spice and the portions substantial. Worth a visit if you are looking for a decent coffee and shakshuka.
Ha, somehow the atmophere, the kitchen, the dress codes of the waiters and waitress(only one shows that this is an Israeli style cafe. there is an air in here that something is unintentionally chaotic, but somehow all works out fine. the food is also very israeli mama cooking style, comfortable and happy to eat. the host was funny. he kept asking where was my other half before sitting me down. there was a long queque on the new year's day so i guess he wanted to make sure that i really have another half to join me-: . my husband asked him about the tahini. he told him where to get it. i was amazed by this as i was expecting him to say this is trade secret-: .
