Straight River Golf Course - Faribault

I stopped here for the first time and really enjoyed it. I live a few miles to the south and was surprised how scenic much of the drive was. It's out of town but Google maps worked perfectly. It seems the restaurant portion of the clubhouse is the entire main floor. The view out over the course was very nice. I was told the menu was slimmed down because the chef was recovering from surgery. I had a bacon cheeseburger and cheese curds. It was much better than the typical burger. There was something in the hand made patty that will bring me back again. The cheese curds were excellent also. I enjoyed the remote location. My food was very good. The woman working there was very friendly and helpful. I think I even saw a small herd of goats in the distance. If I'd been able to order from the regular menu, I'd probably have given it 5 stars.

Great place for lunch or dinner...Friday night walleye is excellent! Every meal is consistent no matter when we go. The chef does a great job!

The prime rib was pretty good. But wasn't great. The potatoes and the vegetables were cold. But I would still go back.

I never want to go back to have their prime rib for fear that it can never live up to the first memory I have of it!!!!!! I told my husband that this was one of the most memorable meals I've EVER had and I'm well past retirement. BTW, Don't know the owners. Can't say much more.

Amazing food and great golfing! The food has amazing taste and the environment is SPECTACULAR! I love coming here with family on Saturday nights for the prime rib! The golfing is great. It's just an amazing coarse!
