Contribuiți la feedbackThe Ultimate Breakfast at £6.99 is a good value option at this restaurant. However, the sausages were overcooked and almost burnt. The management at Morrisons Exeter Cafe seems to lack concern for the overall conditions in the cafe. The staff, despite being cheerful, have to work in difficult conditions due to being seriously understaffed. The coffee machine frequently has problems, and there is often a lack of cutlery available. On the day of the visit, there were only 2 cups for coffee, which had to be reused after the previous customers left. The lack of alternative paper cups was also disappointing. Overall, the management's lack of care is evident in the constant delays and shortages experienced by customers. The hardworking staff members are left to apologize for these issues, but the blame lies with the cafe's management. It seems as though they would be content to toss food and utensils over the barrier at customers, rather than address these shortcomings.
We stopped by for a late lunch on Monday today is Weds). There were two members of staff on and they had obviously been busy as there were lots of tables with trays left on them. We ordered food for ourselves and our three children. Food prices have risen alot since pre-pandemic. We paid £39 for meals, snacks and drinks. When the food arrived it looked very nicely cooked and I was very happy. HOWEVER, I took one bite from the sausage I had ordered a veggie all-day breakfast) and it was 100% meat. I have been veggie for 25 years and have eaten ALOT of veggie sausages in my time and it was unmistakably meat. It was pink inside, had a skin and smelled like a pork sausage. I asked the lady about this and she assured me it was veggie and went to get an empty packet to show me that it was a Richmond Meat-less vegan sausage. I did not believe her as my husband carnivore through and through) tried it and said he also thought it was meat as he hates anything veggie. I left and this morning purchased and cooked some of the Richmond meat-less sausages which bore no resemblance whatsoever to the sausages I was served and were obviously meat-free. This was an unlawful act and I am lodging a complaint with the store. I have been veggie for so long and to be given meat sickens me to the stomach. Employees who obviously could not care less or who relish deceiving their innocent customers should not be there. Shame on you Morrisons :
Sainsbury's no longer serves their delicious battered cod and chips, and the replacement option is disappointing. I was not happy with the limited food choices and decided to try the fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce at Morrisons. Finally, I found fantastic fish! The staff informed me that they use fresh fish from their in-store meat/fish counter, batter it, and fry it to perfection. The freshness of the fish was amazing. Well done, Morrisons! I will now be enjoying my fish meals there and doing my shopping at the same time, rather than at Sainsbury's. For only £7, I received a freshly fried piece of superb cod, chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce, a wedge of lemon, and a mug of coffee/tea. It was an absolute bargain.
I waited for food for 50 minutes and was then told it would be an additional 20 minutes. The service was terrible, I would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs!
We waited over an hour for our food and complained 3 times, when it arrived it was inedible. Chips where over cooked as was the sorry looking eggs, my jacket potato was cremated and came with slaw which I asked not to be included. We were so hungry we ate what we could and asked to speak to the manager, alas she couldn't be located, strange that? Other customers near us had waited as long as us and where just as angry. Finally got to speak to a customer advisor who sorted out a refund for the food and a voucher to compensate the service we had, I don't think the half price food scheme will last very long if they have to keep refunding people.
