Alto Cucina - Erie

This was our first visit to this fine restaurant, and it was an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was fantastic. The waitstaff were wonderful, and the food was incredibly flavorful. Every bite was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

The tuna was outstanding! Our waiter, Nate, was excellent—truly top-notch service. The restaurant offers a perfect blend of high-end cuisine (lightly adapted for Erie) with prices that are approachable. Guests can enjoy a casual atmosphere or choose a more elevated dining experience, depending on their preference!

Classic atmosphere, thought it would be more busy for a Saturday evening dinner. great meal, I ordered the pollo bolognese, it was fantastic. service was prompt, we were one of three parties in the night, although, not sure how it would be if it were more business.

I’m not sure we’ll return. When we first entered, there was a strong, musty smell in what used to be a house converted into a restaurant. While the setting was cozy and had a nice atmosphere, as my pictures show, I was disappointed to find that an Italian restaurant ran out of veal around 6 PM. The place was busy, yet I only noticed two waitstaff working, which felt inadequate. I suspect the owner has enough staff during peak times to provide a level of service that justifies the automatic (and unannounced) 20% gratuity. We didn’t even receive refills for water or tea.

Food was good. The reasons for only a three rating are 1. They were out of veal at 5 PM on Friday. 2. Some of the menus had a strange odor, which my daughters noticed right away when opening their menus. 3. No kid 's menu. We asked about it, waitress said no. However AFTER she brought a $14 monster plate of spaghetti and two meatballs for our little girl, she told us about a cheaper meatball appetizer that came with 2 big meatballs and some spaghetti perfect for a child.
