It's called Taco Coquis. Pronounced, Taco Cookies. It's moved south a few times but always run by the same lady and her granddaughter now that daughters are married. It's on main road, south of Chapultepec in town of Maneadero on way to Las Canadas Campiamento water park. The stand is right across from the market, Maria Quientero, on the east side of the road. They open at 7 pm and close around 1 am. We're usually the only gringos there but she always remembers us and my LOVE of her Queso Tacos. I'll eat 7 or 8 and waddle away very content. Try to find her, you'll be glad you did.
Remember, the favorite hours for tacos are between 2 - 4 PM and especially from 7 - 9PM. A taqueria only stays in business (has customers) if the food has been proven safe and delicious. Busy stands guarantee both points. Mexicans are not nice to the stand owner if the food turns out to be bad. The stand owners know this. Tacos, genuine tacos are seasoned by the buyer so they aren't going to hand you a thermonuclear snack.
Variety of tacos from the street taco stands is a heritage and a treat. So good, life made simple, and very easy on the pocket book.
All depends which place and what kind of tacos you like, the quesadilla with beef is ok
