Sushi Ya - Anchorage

It’s clean, smells nice, food tastes great- it’s awesome!!! As soon as I walk in it feels like I’m in Tokyo. I will never get tired of this place.

Me and my friend went to try this restaurant for the first time and it was a great first impression. The staff was nice and on time, the interior design was unlike any other Japanese restaurant in Anchorage, and of course the food was very delicious. My only tiny complaints were that the restaurant felt alittle small and it was alittle dark inside but really none other than that this is a really fine place to dine in and I may come again in the future.

The service is absolutely amazing here very attentive/ present and friendly but never pesky or obnoxious. Such a calm and peaceful environment with incredible food and flavors! One of our new favorite places!

Loved the agedashi tofu (authentic both in the sauce and the style of frying) and the oysters (which had the perfect mix of sauce and toppings), though we were disappointed about the sashimi/sushi (which wasn’t very fresh) and the rice (which had almost a basmati consistency instead of sticky white rice). The service was perfect, couldn’t ask for better, and the ambiance was lovely.

Service was great, sushi was great and the place itself is really modern and cosy. I would definitely recommend!
