Contribuiți la feedbackThat is a must-eat experience. the food was delicious and freshly cooked. also the coffee was a great experience! the service was so friendly and helpful. we will return to Quan’s cafe when we come to edmonton.
Was not in over a year here and next to the change of owner, none of the original cooks are still here. eating was not good. I've been normal here before, but never come back
Very disappointed. I was a normal guy when the restaurant was running. I thought I would try to get out, ordered the winton my and bark chow mine. the broth was a simple hun without taste and the wintons were just a pure boar filling. without taste. very disappointed. the boy my was so anointed that I couldn't eat him and threw him in müll.
We were in edmonton to see the different sides. my garmin was with us, as it is, everywhere in the world. We decided to eat Italian. the various Italian places in and around the west edmonton mall. an option that goes out...Quan's what a funny Italian name (yes, we could be out of the states, but we find out that it wasn't Italian) so we went away. gee whiz, it is not Italian it is an Asian/Vietnamese restaurant. it was a fusion restaurant, both Asian and Vietnamese depending on their preference. my wife, japanese, wanted to eat Asian. So she had Ginger-Rind-Pfeffer. they enjoyed it, tastefully seasoned and close to how they would make it home. I'm a Pho-person. but the menu did not mention any pho, but they had noodles in beef soup, what? yes for those from the states or the asia, it is pho. their beef soup/Broth was well seasoned and had the whole taste I would hope for. the only thing missing was the Thai/regular basilikum, but this is part of the be in canada at the end of the summer, also, they had no jalapenos (the socal version accompaniment), but they had some good hot chili oil to make it. the front of the house staff was wonderful. the 2 ladies that served us were very tight, made sure we had enough tee, etc. to the happiness it had stopped snowing, it was simply cold. we enjoyed our meal, the exchange with the staff and in general it felt like home. what better recommended they can do.
I used to love the food at Quan's, in particular their lemongrass chicken and the chow mein. Today was the first time I placed an order for pick-up since the new owners took over, and I am sorry to say the quality of the food...has declined. The lemongrass chicken was on the menu as having hot peppers in it, but in reality it had crushed red pepper, plus there was so much sauce it was like soup. The ginger beef was salty and overly sauced, and the chow mein noodles were way too salty. I phoned Quan's to let them know that these items were no where near what they used to be, and the lady who answered the phone was very nonchalant about it, as if my comments were of no importance to her restaurant. Her remedy to the problem was for me to go back to the restaurant, food in tow, to get a credit. Kudos to her for offering me a credit, but I suspect I won't be ordering from there again. Of course, you should try it for yourself, but my experience today was less than desirable.
