HAWELI Indian Kitchen Bar South Edmonton Common

We have been twice now, and enjoyed the food and service immensely both times. We started with the ancho chipotle wings, and found them highly flavourful with a medium heat. On our last visit for our main course we enjoyed the Calcutta hakka noodles, tangy Goan basa, the rainbow korma, and the garlic naan. The noodles are smokey and flavourful, and well balanced by almost any dish they are paired with. The basa is a well balanced mix of sweet and savoury to create a unique and addictive flavour. As for the korma, this dish is creamy and smooth. The vegetables are not mushy, and the paneer provides a nice change in the textures compared to the vegetable kormas we have had in the past. The garlic naan was masterfully crisped on one side, gently browned on the other, and had the most garlic flavour we have ever enjoyed anywhere. We generally order our food at a medium heat range, but as everything is prepared fresh, they can spice everything to your personal heat level.

Very happy Haweli was open on Christmas Day! I prefer menus over buffet but only a special buffet was available this day. Buffet was good and had some variety, the south Edmonton common location is noisier than downtown.

The food is so good. great and unique selection, as well as the service sanjay and its team offers, it makes the feeling as if they eat in a beautiful hotel. thanks for making our birthday party perfect.
