Contribuiți la feedbackAlthough this review may be a little late, my family and I visited this restaurant in February during a trip for the Six Nations. It was the highlight of our trip (though maybe not as exciting as Ireland winning). The steak was fantastic and perfectly cooked. I will definitely be returning to Edinburgh next February and can't wait to dine at this restaurant again.
The quality of the food, including oysters, steak, and wine, was all up to par at a reasonable price for the venue. The service was perfectly balanced.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice, the service was decent but the kitchen was extremely slow. However, the caring manager made up for the delay by ensuring I eventually received my food and even offered a second drink. A group of elderly guests arrived, causing the music to stop and be replaced by speeches and applause, which disrupted the experience for individual diners like myself. The steak was excellent, but the 'Cafe de Paris' butter melted quickly. The restaurant only offered one liter bottles of carbonated mineral water, which were too large for a single diner. If you are staying in the old town, be prepared for a 15-20 minute walk to reach the restaurant.
I couldn't get a table at another well-known meat restaurant, so I thought I'd try here.
A fantastic meat restaurant in Scotland. The meat was of high quality and cooked perfectly. We had an 8 party and everything was served perfectly and at the same time! I'd be back when I came back to Scotland. and PS, the single malt is abundant (it is Scotland, after all).
