St Giles' Cathedral Cafe

We were thrilled that we chose to visit this lovely little cafe. The food was simple yet delicious, with generous portions. The service was very friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman who kindly explained the various menu options to us before we departed.

I stopped in for coffee and a snack before a nearby event. I am never disappointed here. The Florentines were fantastic. The staff is always friendly and welcoming.

After visiting the cathedral, my wife, our granddaughter, and I decided to have lunch at the cafe. We discovered a simple cafeteria-style setup with a few hot dishes and a made-to-order sandwich counter offering limited but tasty options. The bustling crowd indicated that it was a popular spot, so we each selected our meals and had a pleasant lunch. While the cafe may not be fancy, it is conveniently situated and serves up delicious, hearty food.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town and a fantastic find.

Knew this from another trip to Edinburgh so looking for a quick lunch we headed that way. Arrived mid-lunch time, lots of business people in there, so quite a buzz but plenty of space and the choice of food on offer is impressive for such a small space in the church crypt. I had quiche and salad, husband had st Giles stovie. Both were delicious. Only one person serving but helpful, cheerful and welcoming and impressively, no queue. Definitely recommended and will visit again when we are in Edinburgh.
