Mao At Home - Dublin

I ordered the Vegan Power bowl. Its basically 50‰ grated carrot (soaking wet too)....no exaggeratation. Barely any of the power ingredients....Also ordered extra tofu which wasn 't included. Really disappointing.

I placed a delivery order at 8pm and waited for an hour for it to arrive, despite living only 5 minutes away. When my order finally came, I was disappointed to find that two portions of egg fried rice were missing, one of which was supposed to come with my sweet and sour chicken. When I called to complain, it took the person nearly 5 minutes to locate my order in the system. They offered me credit for my next order, but I insisted on receiving the missing rice. After some back and forth, I finally asked for a refund instead. It took another hour and an additional phone call to receive the refund. Unfortunately, the food was also disappointing and I will not be ordering from this restaurant again after spending €40.

I am a regular customer of Mao take away and when they get it right, the food is delicious and flavorful. However, I have usually had this experience at their other locations. On my recent visit, I ordered my usual ribs and five-spice dish but was disappointed to find that it was lacking in flavor. Additionally, the portions were quite small for the price, making it feel like a bit of a stingy serving. I suggest that the managers make sure to consistently check that dishes are served with the intended flavor.

The food at Mao was bland and too expensive, which left me feeling very unsatisfied. The portions of fish and meat were minimal and I felt like I could have made a much better meal at home. I rarely get takeout, but Mao was a big letdown. I will not be ordering from Mao again.
