Contribuiți la feedbackStepping into this establishment feels like a trip back in time to the 1940s/1950s. The atmosphere immerses you in the golden era of Detroit, with visions of classic cars lining the streets. Live music adds to the nostalgic vibe, making it a must-visit for jazz and live music enthusiasts.
We had the perfect anniversary dinner with great music at this restaurant! The food, service, and music were all amazing. We will definitely be back!
I have previously reviewed Cliff Bell's, but I wanted to provide an update as the food has significantly improved since our last visit. However, it is important to note that most people do not go to Cliff Bell's specifically for dinner. The main draw is the beautiful art deco ambiance and the fantastic live jazz performances. While the bistro-style food has always been secondary, it seems that the quality has fluctuated over the years. On this visit, we ordered mussels, grilled swordfish, and braised short ribs, all of which were excellent. The ribs, in particular, stood out with their tender meat and flavorful mustard sauce. The swordfish was perfectly cooked and moist, while the mussels were decent but could have used more bread to soak up the broth. However, I did have some concerns about the prices, as most entrees are now over $30 and certain dishes feel overpriced. Overall, Cliff Bell's remains a top destination in downtown Detroit, especially for jazz enthusiasts. Just be aware that reservations are only available for dinner, so you may need to arrive early to secure a table on busy nights.
First off. The ambiance is second to none. Unfortunately they have changed the menu from-the last time we were there. Bring back the Chicken waffles with the jalapeño syrup let people enjoy both your mimosas **** Marys. Simple. Did Sunday brunch. Food was very good just miss the little things.
Did not care for the fact that our 6:30pm dinner was over at 9:45pm and my husband and I was just enjoying the band. And all of sudden the hostess states that we had to pay $10 covercharge if we wish to hear the rest of the band. We left because we all ready spended $125 for dinner and now you trying charge us more.. that's tacky. Next time let your reservation customers know you in advance.
