Best Mexican food I have had in a long time. I mean everything hit today. The chips were warm and tasty, the hot sauce was not too hot or mild but it was sooo favorable. I had a cheese and beef enchiladas with beans and rice- all well, perfect and I never say everything is perfect. Normally at a Mexican restaurant something is good, but something is just okay. My highest recommendation. Oh and the service- despite being very busy with a note that stated they were short staffed, everything was fine. Our server, Jesús did an excellent job while waiting on several tables.
We ate at Casa Torres for the first time today and it was great. The food was fresh, plentiful, and delicious, and even though they are crazy busy, we didn't have to wait long for a table during the lunch rush. Service was very good. We'll definitely go back.
I called in a group order and was told that it'll be ready for pick up at a certain time. When I arrived I was told that the food was not ready. The staff called up an assistant manager. The manager informed me that he wasn't going to begin to prepare the order until I came in to pay for it. This was after I tried to pay over the phone. I asked to pay in person, but the assistant manager continued his rant. Finally, after about 2 minutes into his rant the assistant manager gave me an amount and ask for the payment. The amount in person was different than the one quoted via phone. Once I notified the assistant manager of the discrepancy he went on another rant, declaring that he don't need my buisness that my $400+ is nothing to them, and if I don't want to pay the new amount I can just leave. I was floored. However, I felt compelled to get the food, as I was ordering for my staff who wanted to eat from this restaurant. I agreed to the additional cost and paid. After this I was told that I'd have to wait 30 to 45 minutes for the order to get prepared. (This was a great setback as several of my staff members didn't get to eat due to the restaurants lack of timing Finally, when the time was close to collect the food, I foolishly asked for plates, and plastic ware. You guessed it, the assistant manager denied the request and informed m that I would have to pay for each set that I want, proclaiming that the restaurant has to pay for said items why should we get them for free? Once I finally got the food to my staff, some of it was cold, the rice was hard, the beans had wasted out. I DO NOT AND WILL NOT SUPPORT THIS RESTAURANT.
Quality of food, management and owner hospitality have gone down hill!! Very disappointed. Will never go back after treatment received from owner and management over a $4.95 plate of horrible food for a child. They must be getting a lot of complaints and request for food to be taken off of the ticket if $4.95 was with losing a loyal long time customer. Steer clear and support other restaurants that value you as a customer.
