The menu was minimal but a little something for everyone's tastes. I had the Niman Burger and it was delicious! Juuuust right, the fries were perfect and the staff? The staff are very attentive and on point! A little bit of class in a little bit of city. I would definitely venture back with my fam just because of the dining experience (I really don't have much business in Davis.
We love eating at Seasons! It is a great mid way point between where we live in Vacaville and our friends in Sacramento! The food is always really good and it just has such a great energy. The service is on point and they really listen to what you want. Highly recommend it!
Overall this was a wonderful fine dining experience in Davis. Did not expect this kind of dining experience in Davis so had to share the story. Here goes our story… Couple of friends were heading back to SF and decided to indulge in some fine dining on the way. Did some research, found out about Seasons in Davis downtown and called them to make a reservation. On our way we got some unexpected traffic (which is pretty common on I 80 Davis Area) so called them ahead saying we are runnnig 15 mins late, the hostess assured us our table will be waiting. Upon arrival, we found out that they have 1/2 off wine bottles on Thursdays (Trust me… I am only coming back here on Thursdays for the 1/2 of wines). They have some very good wines too e.g. 2011 Wm Harrison Cab Franc. Our server Kelly also suggested that bottle to try with the food. At 1/2 off the bottle that is a steal. For appetizers, we tried the Warm California Olives Marcona Almonds, Lobster Deviled Eggs, BBQ Salmon Sliders and Dungeness Crab Cake family style. I personally liked the Deviled Eggs and Crab Cakes. You cannot go wrong with either of them. For main course, I ordered the Walnut Pesto Spaghetti and replaced Spaghetti with Fettuccine. To be honest the grilled potatoes and roated cauliflower in a pasta dish intrigued me to try it out. My wife was a bit surprised that I was ordering a non meat dish for main course. But I have to say I was not disappointed. Most of our friends ordered from the daily special menu. I tasted the Mahi Mahi Risotto from my wife and it was pretty rich and delicious. For dessert, we ordered the Creme Brulee and Bread Pudding again family style and again were not disappointed. Was surprised to see an almost full house on Thursday in Davis downtown restaurant. It could be the holiday season (or) it could be that Thursday is the New Friday. All in all we had a great dining experience. Will certainly recommend to friends for a fine dining experience in Davis area. Also will certainly stop by next time again on my way to Tahoe or Sacramento.
Though it was just two of us, we were seated at a spacious booth. Our server was attentive without hovering or being intrusive. Our cocktails were unique and delicious. The butternut squash bisque was creamy and savory with a drizzle of creme fraiche. The salmon sliders were fresh, with a tasty airline, and a soft roll. My sweetie ordered the burger minus the portobello and lettuce, but with avocado and bacon. It was huge and perfectly prepared. We regret being too full for dessert.
I love this place. Every time I come here, the food is amazing. And the service is always top notch. With the location being in Davis, I'm always surprised to find such a high quality restaurant in such a small town.
