I had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant. The coffee and prawn risotto from the specials board were both excellent. The quiet atmosphere made the experience unforgettable. This place has become a new favorite for me when visiting Sydney.
If they live in the kings Cross/Darlinghurst areas, this caffe is very convenient for a hearty breakfast or lunch. it is actually just a few hundred meters from kings cross station not edgecliff, as incorrectly listed on trip advisor. there are always many tables. of many natives. wifi free, but only cash. update june 2022 stopped by early eve 6pm, as after a “quick” meal before an early show. 4 employees, maybe 10 guests, usually eat/drink, so not busy at all. removed on meatballs maic instead of a pasta, think that this would be quite easy to prepare. within 10min, I felt that the dinge did not go smooth. a mozen at a table before me tried to get the attention of a coworker. his wein seemed to be forgotten. 20 minutes in I'm waiting for my meal. I begin to notice that the meals come when the kitchen is very slow. 25 min a worker apologises not as desired via the drink order of another. the meals come, but still not mine. I ask someone if they can check what happened to my order. they call the kitchen, then they go to fix a cash order. the meals come for the patrons who came after me not mine yet. the decision to go upstairs. 30 min in not yet a sign “it’s almost ready” . they wanted me to go away, but I explained that I would make a show that is not able to eat with me. 30 min was too long for it. they gave me back. it looks like people who currently operate this food do not have the ability to run an efficient restaurant with just a few tables, it was not busy at all. slow, inattentively a disappointment. as another evaluator pointed out, the times have changed, this is not the same as it was once and not for the better. I've eaten a lot of time in the past. this week was probably the last time.
That is not what it was then! since the last 30 odd years we have been here and have gone out and are always reliable! came to dinner with my parents and it was dirty! we ordered wein and the glass. my mother was ordered not to her cheerfulness, the manager refused to swallow it and argued her right not to float it? hallo, what is going on? the customer service was so bad! eating was also terrible minenstrone suppe, which was thin gruell! this place really lost its touch and I am so sad about how I loved to come here in the late 80s at the beginning of the 90s when there was a super lively and friendly staff! many have changed in the last 20 strange years especially manating!
If it's your first time visiting, simply find a table, place your order at the register after reading the menu on the wall above the kitchen area, and then sit back and enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the local community. Whether you see regulars reading the paper, chatting over coffee, or dining solo, there's a spot for everyone here. The hardworking staff will take good care of you, and the menu offers options for all ages and appetites at affordable prices. Take a moment to look out at the bustling street and envision it closed off for the original screening of Tropfest. This restaurant is conveniently located just a short walk away from the Griffin Theatre, making it a great choice for pre or post-show dining.
