Jamil's Cafe - Darby Township

Here's the thing about soul food...some people can make it, some can't. Jamil's Cafe CAN make IT!!! I went there HUNGRY, HUNGRY after a long morning of work. I ordered fried whiting, yams cabbage. Let's just say Jamil's is on my LIST now. Everything I do mean EVERYTHING was ?. I love me some fish and mine was fried perfect!!!! Because I'm greedy, I had to get some cake too. That lemon cake....babeeee it did not disappoint!!! If you haven't tried Jamil's Cafe, you should!!!

I ordered through DD, and it arrived hot and on time. Everything was delicious. I had the whiting and shrimp platter with greens, seafood salad n a side of Mac n cheese. The side of mac for $5 was skimpy for the price but was good. I definitely support Black owned businesses if food is good. Overall, I recommend and will order again.

I ordered three stuffed salmon with 2 sides each and my 3rd platter contained only the fish and a bread roll with one side which was in a separate container. I've called 8 times at 6:30pm and got no answer. They didnt even call to suggest a substitute. Nor just sub out a greens for what they didnt have or double the second side. Nothing.

I really wish you wouldn’t lock your doors at 7:30pm when your hours of operation are until 8pm. I absolutely love your banana pudding but after waiting 3 days for your store to open up to actually get it and rush here from work, I was hurt! ?

I ordered fish two sides. I got fish one side. I paid $22.00. I was disapointed. If the 2nd side wasn't available I would have been ok with another, even if I didn't eat it. The fish was delicious, so I'll try one more time.
