Off The Beaten Path Ice Cream

Enjoyed an ice cream cone after eating dinner from Wicked Chicken. The two eateries are on the same location. The serving size was huge!! About 3 scoops on a delicious waffle cone. I was able to choose from about 20 flavors.

We could not get service. We left after waiting ten minutes. This town’s dining options are really lacking.

I had a disappointing experience. My wife and I live in Abingdon and we decided to take a Sunday afternoon Drive and get some ice cream. It was Labor day weekend and we decided to head to Damascus. This little ice cream shop has changed hands several times through the years, so we looked online to see if it was open. Sure enough it was open till 8pm, or so said google. Plenty of time, because it was not quite 7pm.We drove to Damascus and arrived at 7:25 and the place was busy. Only a couple parking spaces available. I got out of the car and walked over to the chain which guarded the entrance and stood patiently. Another patron arrived and walked under the chain ignoring the protocols and proceeded to a table. The staff was busy cleaning up the dining area and avoiding eye contact though it seemed they knew I was there,.... strange. Eventually a young lady came to the reception area and explained that because of Covid19 they were now closing at 7pm on Sunday evening and pointed to the road sign which posted the new hours. I explained that I just wanted to get two ice cream cones to go and was not planning to sit down. She still turned me away and pointed to her mask and said this has messed up everything.....so my wife and I went to the grocery store and bought ice cream on the way home ?.Since they were still waiting for a dozen or so guests to leave and I just wanted two cones to go, I thought about all the restaurants struggling and thought it was ironic that this place had more customers than they want and turning them away. Hence, rating them 1 star.I would suggest calling ahead before you make plans to visit this place.

Icecream was great. Building was closed due to covid...order through staff at wicked chicken.

All around bad experience when I brought my grand daughter there for ice cream last week. Waited a gate for 10 minutes before anyone even came to take our order. We were the only ones in line. Had contact with 4 staff members to get 2 ice creams. She ordered a brownie ice cream and was brought a 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 something else and were told they ran out of brownie. Sorry. And even though there were only 2 picnic tables were being used when I asked if we could sit at a table and have our ice creams. I was told no you can't sit there unless you are eating. I thought that's what you did with ice cream was eat it!
