FOOD IG: @northtx.gemz••••? WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: cute wine and pizza bar. They sell other dishes and small bites too.?WHAT WE ORDERED:• Margherita Pizza• ¡Vamos Beaches! Cocktail• La Sancha Frozen Cocktail• Mi Corazón Cocktail? PRICE: $40? THE VIBE: super cute place, since it’s the Summer House special concept, it was giving Tulum vibes.? WOULD I COME BACK? Yes, but to the regular Leela’s lol.••••Overall Rating: 8/10 I have been wanting to go to Leela’s for so long and well we ended up at their limited edition special concept restaurant called “Summer House”. They’re currently renovating their original location down the street so they introduced this concept here. I believe menu items should be the same but the cocktails were limited edition to this specific concept. Do not get the ¡Vamos Beaches! Cocktail it was extremely strong and just not good and @jackiemtz_ had to send it back ?. I liked my frozen drink, La Sancha, but I absolutely hate mezcal tequila and it tasted like that… I should’ve read the ingredient list better lol. Overall, if you don’t mind that smokey mezcal tequila taste the rest of the drink was good! The drink Jackie ended up getting was I believe the Mi corazón but we weren’t sure, she just said to give her something fruity and not strong ?. The pizza was pretty good! The thin crust was so crispy and I loved the cheese and how thinly shredded it was.
We were curious about checking out the Summer House, so went with friends. The concept is fun and definitely with summer vibes. Food Menu is same as their original, with some specials. Flatbreads are great, thin and good flavor. Tried the Órale drink, too sweet for me, the Amante Picante Margarita was smokey and spicy, what I was looking for. Service was good, not stellar, a few times we were needing help to order and couldn’t get our server to look at our table when passing by. I must say, the music is a miss! It was constantly changed between lounge, Latin, from one song to the next. Hard to tell what concept was wanted and very noticeable. The volume would change as well, it threw us off. Pick a rhythm and keep it consistent at least for a few hours.
The website clearly states they close at 11 on weekends and yet around 10:05 the management started forcing people to leave. On top of that our waiter acknowledged the building was open until 11-12AM but after that a different woman came and told us the website is wrong and they close at ten. She had black hair and was extremely rude. Worst service I’ve ever received.
Leela’s was so cute and perfect for a girls day. I was surprising shocked that not only were the drinks good but the pizza was also pretty good. It was a bit smaller than I anticipated but definitely manageable for the crowd it drew. The bartenders were super nice and engaging so it was an overall nice experience. I don’t have many complaints but I would like to visit here again and try their famous espresso martini.
