La Lancha - Costa Azul

Nice place! Great food!! Good prices! Expect around $20/entree. Nice pool side dining. Pretty neat at night. Thought with it being close to the highway it would be loud, but a buffer wall keeps most of the noise out.

We were so disappointed when we didn't find La Lancha at the playa azul this last trip. But then we were happily surprised to find that the "boat" cafe had moved to the Organico Mercado on Saturday in San Jose del Cabo. The food is fresh, delicious and very inexpensive. I especially love the shrimp and fish tacos.You can find the road to the market behind the El Encanto Inn. The market is held every Saturday from 9 am till 3 pm.

Nothing better than sitting right by the ocean enjoying true local flavor. The food couldn't be better, the location couldn't be better, nor can the price. We hope they will still be there when we return and they haven't taken their boat to another locale. Don't miss the fish tacos and the margaritas are interesting too.

La Lancha has moved during road construction to the Saturday Mercado Organico (farmer's market) in San Jose. The Mercado Organico is a great opportunity to see locals and visitors checking out the produce, food stands, art and music.

La Lancha is, as the name implies, a boat parked on the Costa Azul beach in San Jose del Cabo. The friendly folks that run the small operation serve up huevos for surfers in the morning and the best fish tacos in town. My personal favorite are the shrimp tacos. The setting is plastic chair casual under umbrellas, right on the beach, with a view of the bay a few steps away. They serve it up until 4pm or so.
