Best meal of 2024 so far. First time at this this gem of a place. Service was excellent ask for Louis. Crudo and tartar are a great way to start. A must stop in Miami for people who love excellent food at understated restaurants. No notes.
I was blown away by the appetizers—both the wonton in brodo and the bao were simply amazing, bursting with flavor and expertly crafted. However, when it came to the mains, while the Ora king salmon and mochi cavatelli were tasty, I was disappointed by the small portion sizes, reminiscent of the appetizers. The dessert, a caramel tartare with boba milk ice cream, was a complete letdown, lacking in both presentation and taste.Overall, while the appetizers shone, the inconsistency in portion sizes and the disappointing dessert left much to be desired.
Overall, the food unfortunately couldn’t make up for the lack of atmosphere (outside) and unimpressive service.to start, after struggling to find the place and walking in through the patio, we were denied seating inside (even though those tables sat empty for the rest of the night).we asked to sit inside because the patio has seemingly negative ambience. squished inbetween two sides of a corporate office building, the lighting is harsh, the tables and chairs seem hastily thrown together, and so spread out so as to seem like it’s 2021 and this just opened during COVID.the cocktails are good, although they don’t have a liquor license and it’s only beer and wine (and sake).then, the waiter forgot to put in our first dish.the remaining food we did get was good, although the coursing was such that were served two courses at the same time, watching one get cold as we ate the one that arrived first. for a bib gourmand awarded restaurant, this was pretty surprising and difficult to look past.the bathroom is a single stall located next to the reception desk of this office building. felt like the patio- little thought put into the actual experience of their guests.at least it was moderately priced- $210 for two people including drinks and 20% service charge (automatically added)7.1/10Parking: Difficult to find. Go through north tower of Citi bank building.Wheelchair accessibility: very wheelchair accessible via the south tower of the Citi building.
I have nothing but praise for this place save for one thing. The food, service, presentation, knowledge of staff were all as good as it gets in Miami. My only, very personal, gripe is ... the restroom. There is only ONE and it isn 't even in the restaurant. I have IBS and this turned into a near situation . I had to run across the street to The Globe twice as there was a line. Not an issue for most and also not an indictment of the restaurant but an important note for some. Enjoy!
