There are several eating establishments we visit that are easier on the picket book. All in all it's a nice little restaurant, just a little to pricey for me.
Heard a lot bad things about this place from Facebook, figured I'd give it a try and see for myself. Brought the fam with me Saturday around 7pm, but it was CLOSED! Giant sign in the window says open till 8pm, so what the heck? Ended up going to the Asian place a couple of doors down.Don't say you're open if you ain't open!
Ordered online for a delivery, and it came super timely! The shrimp etouffee was perfection, and if you ever get a chance to have Mama's hummingbird cake, run fast! This is a small biz worth supporting often. ?
This is one of my favorite restaurants and small businesses in Columbia. The food is amazing, despite some people's reviews here. I have tried everything on the menu and have NEVER had a bad meal or burnt food. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The owner is a wonderful woman, and I've had many amazing conversations about family and work. I always enjoy my time spent with Mrs. Jackie. She is a very direct woman, which many can perceive as being rude. But she's simply a no-nonsense type of person. If you're on the fence, give her a chance, you won't be disappointed. If you're concerned about her prices, have you been to the grocery store lately? Her catering is great, too, and super simple on her website. I easily ordered red beans and rice for my Mule Day BBQ, and everyone loved it.
Mama Sucre grew up in Acadiana which is the heart of cajun cuisine. She brings authentic cajun cooking to middle Tennessee. If you want a tasty lunch, this is the place to go.
